Malik Hamaidia is a postdoctoral researcher at the GIGA Cancer Institute (University of Liège) studying macrophage biology and tumor–immune interactions. His work focuses on the functional heterogeneity of tumor-associated macrophages in pleural mesothelioma and their capacity to exert tumoricidal activity within the tumor microenvironment. Using complementary approaches including flow cytometry, high-resolution imaging and single-cell transcriptomics, his research aims to understand how macrophage functional states emerge and influence tumor progression. During this presentation, he will discuss recent findings on macrophage heterogeneity and tumoricidal macrophage activity in pleural mesothelioma.
